§ 34-291. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Junked automotive parts shall mean any wrecked, non-operable, dismantled, or partially dismantled component, device, element and mechanism in, upon or by which any motor vehicle is or may be operated, built or assembled.

    Proper storage container shall mean a structure of sufficient size and strength to contain all junked and used automotive parts being stored, including but not limited to, steel mesh cages and metal storage bins.

    Motor vehicle shall mean every vehicle which is self-propelled, except for those used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.

    Used automotive parts shall mean all old, worn or previously utilized components, devices, elements and mechanisms in, upon or by which any motor vehicle is or may be operated, built or assembled. Used Automotive Parts includes, but is not limited to, any and all components of a motor vehicle's engine, drive train, emissions system, electrical system, braking system, structure, tires, body panels, glass, and interior.

    Vehicle shall mean every device in, upon or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a street, avenue, highway or public thoroughfare, except those used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. Vehicles include cars, trucks, trailers, recreational vehicles and motor homes.
